THE SKIN OF THE SNAKE - Flyer for Liminal Horror RPG

Rimini, 1979.

Since July, more than 8 people have died from the fangs of the serial killer known as the Snake.

The modus operandi is always the same: The victims are men and women, aged between 20 and 35, of great beauty and very fond of nightclubs. The bodies are found in the vicinity of the bars frequented by the deceased. The murder weapon ? A double-bladed knife, curved like the fangs of a rattlesnake or a cobra.

The nightlife is terrified, the bar owners are furious, and the police are overwhelmed as the heat wave of the season makes the current climate unbearable...

The Skin of the Snake is a flyer designed for the role playing game Liminal Horror.  The visual and the scenario are inspired by the Italian Giallo cinema. The word "giallo" simply means the color yellow in Italian. Before being a film name, giallo was the name of a literary collection of murder stories in popular thrillers. What are the topics of the giallo? First of all, there is the theme of murder. One of the principles of giallo is to tell a story with more or less sadistic murders. The women constitute the term of eroticism. They are mostly representations of the femme fatale or the victims of a sadistic serial killer, often witnesses of a crime they should not have seen. They represent the beauty associating in dark and strange settings.  Of course, it goes without saying that I do not share the objectification of the woman that the Giallo cinema could represent in its themes.  Among the most influential directors of the Giallo, it is possible to name Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Mario Bava, Umberto Lenzi and Michele Soavi.

Before you start, make sure you have the rules of the Liminal horror role-playing game. The adventure is compatible with the rules of this minimalist game, but it wouldn't be difficult to adapt it to your favorite horror game, either.
